16th Annual White Squirrel Festival - 2019

  • 175 East Main Street Brevard, North Carolina 28712 USA (map)

Here comes the 16th annual WHITE SQUIRREL FESTIVAL.

A celebration of the locally famous furry critter, this family festival spans three days over Memorial Day weekend and features local handmade arts and crafts, local and regional music, Memorial Day parade, food trucks, craft beer, kids’ activities, and rides.

The WHITE SQUIRREL FESTIVAL is a quirky festival with a lineup of locally and nationally known musicians-this year’s headliner is Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds. Other acts include Lover’s Leap, Chatham Rabbits, Zoe & Cloyd. Check back at for band updates and schedule. All concerts are free.

The fun kicks off at 5:30 Friday night and continues all weekend. There are too many activities to list, but among them are great local food vendors and local craft beer, street vendors with arts and hand-made crafts, kids rides and activities, White Squirrel Photo Contest, White Squirrel 5K/10K Run, Transylvania Farmers Market, and even a rescued white squirrel!

A special feature of the event, Saturday starts with a Memorial Day Parade organized by the American Legion and VFW. The parade honors service men and women, and rolls through town at 9:00 am, followed by the Presentation of the Wreath ceremony at the courthouse.
