July 10 – Flood: Electric Herbie Hancock Tribute – This group includes some of Asheville’s finest jazz musicians performing Herbie Hancock’s electric funk of the early ’70s, including the big hit Headhunters, an album that heralded a new era of jazz fusion and was named by Rolling Stone as one of the best 500 albums of all time. UNC Asheville music faculty members Brian Felix (keyboards) and Jacob Rodriguez (saxophone) will be joined by Mike Barnes (guitar), Ben Bjorlie (electric bass), Phill Bronson (drums) and Jason DeCristofaro (percussion). facebook.com/floodelectricherbie
